CALENDAR OF EVENTS

The Small Business Assistance Center (SBAC) in co-sponsorship with Kutztown University's SBDC (Small Business Development Center) and the SCORE Program (Service Corps of Retired Executives) are pleased to present the following "How To Start and Operate a Small Business" seminars in 2007:

(All are to be held in the Struble Room at the Chester County Library, 450 Exton Square Pkwy., Exton, PA. The library is located near the intersection of Rt. 100 (Pottstown Pike) and Business Rt. 30 (Lancaster Ave.), next to the Exton Square Mall, about 3 miles from Exit 23 of the PA Turnpike and 3 miles from Rt. 202)

CASH CAN NOT BE ACCEPTED - Payment must be made by check at the door the evening of the seminar, or, by credit card prior to attending the seminar, by going to the Kutztown website at kutztownsbdc.org.

Although each year thousands of small businesses are created, most entrepreneurs are not familiar with the "nuts and bolts" of starting and operating their businesses.

"How to Start and Operate a Small Business" is designed to familiarize entrepreneurs with the concepts and terminology needed in the start up and daily operations of a small business. By providing specific information, this course pays for itself hundreds of times over!

Topics include: selecting a business structure, partnership & shareholder agreements, filing a fictitious name registration, contracts, hiring subcontractors vs. employees, the use of a business plan, liability insurance, accounting systems, tax liability, IRS rules and penalties, and obtaining financing.
